“THE FINEST MISSIONARY”
He spoke to them again and said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” John 20:21
God had one son whom he sent to be a missionary. “For God so loved the world that he gave (he sent) his
only Son. John 3:16 Jesus’ mission, though only three years, was spent in a cross-cultural foreign land
telling people he found about God. He left His home and family, traveled a long way, identifying with the
people, learning their language, eating their food, wearing their clothes, suffering their pain and sicknesses.
Choosing to live among the poorest in the most obscure village, city or town, no matter how remote, he
understood their deepest needs.
He was informed of the present day issues (national or international) and did not fear in expressing his
biblically based views. After thirty years of preparation, he began his preaching, teaching, and healing
ministry drawing small and large crowds, always taking time to listen and love the individual. In the world’s
eyes, he may have failed as a missionary and was crucified for doing his mission. But in God’s sight, his
mission was gloriously accomplished returning home to a marvelous welcome and grand reward. He paid the
ultimate price a missionary is ever asked to pay—laying down his life for his God on the foreign mission
field.
Like other willing and humble servants who have followed after him, He lives forever in heaven, surrounded
by those He loved and died for.
Jesus was God’s first and most, finest missionary of all!
